Frequently Asked Questions

Dates, Guest Count & Rain Dates:

After you have decided on a date, give us a call at 978-948-7900 or e-mail us at wecaterbbq@verizon.net to check on availabilty.
A non-refundable 1/3 deposit by credit card or check is required to secure the date.  
Your emailed receipt will serve as a contract for the event.

You may postpone your event up to 48 hours prior to your event.  You are always welcome to reschedule, based on availability.

 

We all get wet unless you have made suitable arrangements for us and for your guests.

 

Final guest count guarantees are due by phone or e-mail 10 days prior to your event.  You can always increase numbers after this date.

 

After 9 days or less before your event, you may add to the guaranteed guest count, but you may not decrease the number.  

 

Set-Up & Serving Times:

For delivery & set up, we arrive approximately 30-60 minutes prior to your serving time.
For full service, we arrive approximately 60 minutes prior to your serving time.

 

It is important to provide us with the correct serving time so that we can have your food properly prepared when you’re ready to have it served.  Please do not confuse the serving time with the arrival of your guests.  If you are planning to have cocktails or appetizers, we suggest a serving time of 1 hour after the arrival time of your guests.

 

A typical buffet can be served in 30-60 minutes per 100 guests.  Larger groups may require more than one buffet line.

 

The buffet/serving line will be open for 1 to 1&1/2 hours, depending on the needs of your event.

 

General Preparations & Info:

A suitable serving site with two 8’ buffet tables (unless otherwise specified) on a level surface with hungry people who really want to enjoy some delicious BBQ!!!

 

Our staff would appreciate having adequate access to the buffet/cooking area which includes a parking spot as close to the area as possible. A level surface for the buffet tables. If it is at night, adequate lighting for the buffet/cooking area.

 

A Professional Service Staff, quality food, disposable plates and flatware, serving utensils and chafing pans. We appropriately decorate the buffet, display a framed menu & place cards for each food item. Wet ones & extra paper towels (Up-graded disposable place settings or full china also available)

 

After everyone has been served, if more of your menu choices are available, it’s all yours.

After everyone is full, if there are any leftovers, we will pack them up and put them wherever you request. (You are responsible for proper storage of any leftover food)

 

Fire Permits are never required for home events or pre-cooked meals served in warming pans.  Some towns (ie: Topsfield or Cambridge, MA) do require a fire permit for on-site grilling with propane at particular venues or public spaces.

 

Yes, we are fully insured and our employees are properly covered.

Clean-Up & Payment:

We’ll never rush you, but it is likely we will be gone two hours after we begin serving.

 

We leave the site as clean as we found it. After we have finished serving we pick up anything disposable (excluding alcohol related items) on the guest tables and surrounding area.

 

Payment is due in full on the day of the event, usually by Credit card kept securely on file, unless prior arrangements have been made. Any gratuity can be added to your credit card receipt or given separately in cash.  Either of which is greatly appreciated for a job well done!
